This is a song I wrote after the recording and mixing for the album was actually finished. I felt like there was one song missing from the album and we recorded it during the Woosey // Parker // Small tour of March 2022. If it wasn't quite so long, we could have called it the single from the album. It's about leaving my family behind when I go on tour.
lyrics
I feel it in my bones, whenever I’m alone,
Waiting for something or someone to really change.
I feel it in my spine, almost all the time,
The calmness of your shallows got me shadow blind.
And oh, where does the time go?
Slipping through the cracks that my leaving leaves.
And oh, it feels so good to know,
Leaving ain’t so hard every time I go away,
When I know you’re helping count down the days.
I feel it in the air, whenever you’re not there,
To know you’re safe and warm is all I really care.
Through the wind and snow, and everywhere I go,
It’s out of my control, it’s unconditional.
Chorus
My heart’s on fire, my soul is ablaze,
My mind is searching for the memory of your face.
Are you lonely, babe? Are you lonely, girl?
And as I ramble, lonely as a fool,
My arms around you, babe, way overdue.
Are you lonely, babe? Are you lonely, girl?
Chorus
